The Beach



This part of Ferrymoor Flash is known locally as "The Beach". I have no idea why as there is no sand there. It is just a piece of ground where nothing seems to grow and at many times of the year is just a muddy patch that is normally too boggy to walk on. The soil is also very black which makes me think it may be saturated with coal dust as this was one a mining area.
